My Grandpa.

My grandpa is very kind, and he loves me. When I was young, my grandpa bought a lot of candies and cookies for me. He also bought a box of coke every month. That way I had coke to drink every day. Later, when people said sugar was not good for health, he stopped buying coke. Sometimes I would go out to drink coke but not too much. I remember when I was in middle school, grandpa rode a bike to my school to pick me up. He went very early and waited under a tree’s shade until the school dismissed. For my safety, he rarely let me go out too late. If I went out with my friends, I had to return home as early as 7 pm. He knows I like to read funny magazines, so everyday he buys one for me. He encourages me whatever I do. I love him so much. With me, he’s the best grandpa in the world, and I’m very proud of him.

Valentine's Day.

February 14 is Valentine’s Day. On that day, all the stores near my house were crowded. The store had a lot of gift items: flowers, stuffed bears… Many people bought gifts. This is the best time in the year for people to show their love to lovers, friends, even families. As my sister told me, a group of girls in her class gave gifts and cards to each other. My sister also got one candy and a small cute Valentine’s card. In Japanese comics, Valentine’s Day is the funniest, the most interesting day of the year. Teenagers buy and give gifts to their lovers. Usually the girls make chocolates for the boys they like. One boy probably has more than one girl give him chocolate. The boy is supported to take all the chocolates. If he didn’t like the girl, he would give back her chocolate the day after. That’s an interesting fact about Japanese’s culture. I don’t know what Americans do on Valentine’s Day. But I really like to have gift on such a special occasion.

Study Space.

There are various reasons why my personal study space is both good and bad. One reason is I don’t really have enough equipment, but I have a perfect place for thinking. I usually do my homework on my bed. From my bed, I can look out a window picture. Whenever I’m stressed out, I look up and watch the blue sky and branches of the tree. The scene outside makes me relaxed. I can lie down on the bed if I’m too tired, or while I’m thinking hard. It really helps, but it has a disadvantage is it is too messed up. I put all my stuff on the bed: books, papers, pens… all over. So when I need a paper or a pen, I waste my time looking for things. After studying, I must clean up and arrange my study space. It’s a little messy, but the important thing is I’m done with my homework.
