Myself

My name is Tho Trinh,and I live in Oakland, CA with my family. I was born in 1986 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Vietnamese is my nationality, but my background is Chinese. My great- grandparents immigrated to Vietnam when the war between China and Japan exploded. Even though my grandparents and my parents know how to read, write, and speak Chinese, they communicate with me in Vietnamese. We speak Vietnamese all the time, not Chinese. They only speak Chinese whenever they don't want me to know what they're talking about. Before I came to the U.S., I graduated high school in Vietnam. My school, Hung Vuong High School is one of famous schools in Ho Chi Minh City. My favorite school subjects were biology and chemistry. I always got good grades for these two subjects. Also, I studied English as a foreign language at school, but I was bad at it. That's why I'm here at Laney College to study ESL. My hobbies are to watch movies, read books, and go out with friends. If I have free time, I'll relax at home and read books. I plan to become a nurse, because I like to help and comfort other people. I'll try hard to achive my plan. That's my goal!
